Dave Rubin - Teacher
Dave Rubin is a New York City blues and rock guitarist, teacher, author and journalist. He has played with Chuck Berry, Son Seals, Honeyboy Edwards, Steady Rollin’ Bob Margolin, Billy Boy Arnold, Johnny Copeland, Duke Robillard, James Brown’s JBs, the Drifters, Marvelettes, Coasters and the Campbell Brothers. He has interviewed hundreds of greats in the industry....BB King, Eric Clapton, Warren Haynes, Mick Taylor, John McVie, John Mayall to name a few.
Dave has been an author for the Hal Leonard Corporation for 25 years with 12 titles in his Inside the Blues series along with numerous Signature Licks and other books for a total of over 80 publications. He was the musical director for the Star Licks DVD series Legends of the Blues, as well as being featured in his accompanying DVD for his “12-Bar Blues” book that was nominated for a publishing industry Paul Revere Award in 1999.
As a journalist Dave was an editor at Guitar One along with a contributing writer to Guitar Player, Guitar World, Guitar Edge, Guitar School, Guitar Shop, Living Blues and Blues Access magazines. In 2005 he was the recipient of the Keeping the Blues Alive Award in Journalism from the Blues Foundation.
